Story time! Ever since going viral on tiktok in June 2023, our customers have primarily been candy customers. The entire reason we even started making candy is because our tea plants are taking a really long time to grow and so we were looking at other things we could produce as supplemental income while the tea is growing. The initial idea was to make tea flavored candies to just sell on the side. It turned out to be harder than we thought to make really good tea flavored candies that we would be proud to sell, so the idea was essentially abandoned and we primarily make fruit flavored candies. 
 
It was important to us that for the launch of the natural flavors we had at least one tea flavored candy, so here it is! We made a trip to multiple tea producing areas in Japan, including Uji which is the birthplace of matcha. We met with farmers, producers, and sellers regarding our own tea farm operations here in the states. Ever since that trip we knew we wanted to try to make a matcha candy that felt like it could be at home in Japan. By using generous amounts of organic japanese matcha both mixed into the candy as well as dusting the outside, we have created an authentic matcha candy that we are proud of! The heat of the candy when the matcha is mixed in seems to help bloom the powder and lock in the flavor. I personally don't like super sweet things so the slight bitterness of matcha pairs extremely well with the sweetness to balance it out and provide a very smooth and mellow taste.

This is from our line of candy that contains no dye and uses only natural flavorings. Due to the fact that "Natural Flavor" as an ingredient isn't heavily regulated, sometimes it can be a misleading term. Please know that isn't the case here and for our candies listed with natural flavors we only use 100% plant based flavors (fruit/veggie/herb/etc). In addition to being dye-free and naturally flavored, they are also gluten free and vegan.
 
We now sell multiple different combinations of dyed and dye-free candies with and without natural flavor, so please check the listings when making your selection. Additionally, the all-natural dye-free candies are currently being produced in a unique shape that is separate from all of our other candies.
 
All of our hard candy is handmade in small batches using a vintage candy roller that is over 150 years old! We do not use high fructose corn syrup and so our candy is less sweet tasting than most commercial industrial candy. Due to overwhelmingly positive feedback, we have expanded a lot of our dye-free offerings! Please note that the dye-free candy can vary in color between batches, from clear to yellow to brown.
